These are pics of my new transmitter, 1st contact 12-31-03

This is a direct copy of the WA1QIX design using a KD1J modulator board. Thanks to both of them for making parts available and providing help. They both have sites, which may be found by searching their calls.

The Power Supply is the limiting factor, at 200 Watts carrier, the transformer starts overheating???? Sure looks BIG enough!

This is the RF deck (Left) and Modulator (Right)

The modulator would probably be better off on the Power Supply as I have a lot of RF getting into it. That is why the shield was installed along with lots of additional bypassing!

This is an over view of WB8BEM/8 in Shinbone, Ohio

To the left is the 75A3 reciever, the Class E rig and the Power Supply.

Above is the TS530 exciter.

Here is the PS. with the wimpy transformer.

This Trans. sure looked like it would do 500 Watts, but starts getting hot at 200 Watts. Anybody got a transformer for 100 volts CT  cheap?

I'm thinking of going to separate supplies, and negating the need for the CT.

This is my latest TEST transmitter on 160 M

This "piece" made its first contact 3-9-04 with KC8OPP and K8TV

It's a TEST transmitter as it is using 2 of the failed FET's from my 75m unit.

It appears they have gate problems but with enough drive they do work. Getting about 100 Watts out!

Another shot of the beast

160 m What a coil! Had to remove about 5 turns with the red jumper.

Last Picture - 160m Test transmitter - Equal to a DX-100?
